Gabbatha (Gab´buh-thuh)

A term that appears but once in the NT, in (John 19:13), as the Hebrew (actually Aramaic) equivalent of the Greek term lithostrôton, the “pavement” where the hearing of Jesus before Pontius Pilate was held.

John 19:13

13When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus outside and sat on the judge's bench at a place called The Stone Pavement, or in Hebrew Gabbatha.
