Dalmatia (Dal-may´shee-uh)

The southwestern part of Illyricum along the modern Yugoslav coast of the Adriatic Sea. Illyricum was established as a Roman province in 9–10 CE. The name Dalmatia dates from the period of the Flavian emperors (ca. 70 CE) and came to be used interchangeably with the name of the province as a whole. In (2Tim 4:10) Titus leaves Paul to go to Dalmatia.

2Tim 4:10

10for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
